The building was built in 1861 and owned by the Chan family. The building was transformed into a museum in 1985 to let the public understand more about Peranakan culture. 

 

As you step into the building, you can see the interior decor is greatly influenced by the Dutch, Portuguese, Malay, and Colonial. There are valuable items showcased in the museum, such as Peranakan traditional costumes, woodwork art, and antique furniture

There are different sections in the museum, such as the reception hall, kitchen, and the Ancestral Hall. In the olden days, only men are allowed to stay in the reception hall. In the park, you can find 13 different houses with different Malay architectural styles from the 13 states of Malaysia. You can find items inside the house, which is known for the representative state. Besides the 13 states of Malaysia, you can find houses representing the members of ASEAN including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.

Malacca has plenty of historical sites to visit, A’Famosa Fort is one of it. Built in 1511 by the Portuguese, now it left only the gate. It used to house the Portuguese adminstration, including hospitals and key towers. 

 

Although it left the gate, the remains are well-preserve despite it has been there for years. If you go nearer, you can see the white stone carvings are still readable. You can find a canon in front of the entrance which is a replica. You can enjoy the view of architecture of the Portugese.
